230 years ago, the DORES family used to work as international traders.

After the French revolution, they received the “Medal of Confidence” for the quality of their products and their reliability.

80 years later, Janat’s history really started with the opening of Janat DORES restaurant in 1872, in the heart of Provence in the South of France.

Mr DORES furrowed the whole world and brought back spices, tea and cocoa of very high quality. At this period, each voyage lasted during several weeks. Meanwhile Mr Janat DORES’s two cats patiently awaited his return. At the time of his arrival they always came to greet him at the door.

Mr DORES very deeply loved his cats, which inspired him ideas and gave him passion to create new products.

This inexhaustible passion to create single and characteristic recipes, still guides today the manufacture of each product.

Because as Mr DORES used to say: "Passion is the essential key of success, without passion, there are no achievement".
